Clinical trial sponsors have many questions about the way to read Clinical Trials Regulation in the light of GDPR. In their meeting of 19th of November, EDPB agreed on the attribution of a mandate for the provision of a guidance on Q&A developped by the commission. Let's hope this guidance, when released would be open for public consultation ;-) #gdpr #research #regulations #clinicaltrials

À l’occasion de la journée de la protection des données, l’association Africa Data Protection (ADP) a le plaisir de vous partager l'édition janvier 2024 de son ADP Report, disponible via ce lien : https://lnkd.in/ekg2XB_j J’ai eu le plaisir de participer à la rédaction de l’édito qui interroge la pertinence de l’entrée en vigueur de la convention de l’Union Africaine sur la cybersecurité et la protection des données personnelles neuf ans plus tard. 1️⃣ De notre point de vue, elle est complètement à la traine et aujourd’hui moins protecteur que la majorité des lois nationales en la matière. 2️⃣Bien que nous reconnaissions à cette convention son importance à rappeler des principes fondamentaux de protection des données personnelles, il est indéniable qu’elle a aujourd’hui besoin d’une mise à jour.

Just before the CPDP congress, the place to be yesterday was the 5th Anniversary of the GDPR at the Representation of the Free State of Bavaria to the European Union. Interesting and lively debate and wonderful reception. Key takeaways: - GDPR became a benchmark and a golden standard for data protection regulations all over the world - EU is strongly committed to find the right balance between the fundamental rights of its citizens and needs of innovation and new technologies - EU is going to provide EDPB and data protection authorities with more means to ensure a proper enforcement of GDPR through joint actions or an ancillary regulation (stay tuned this summer!) #gdpr #innovation #europeanunion #data
