What an amazing Iceland Innovation Week ✨ It's been a while since I met so many inspiring people. Made new friends. And had this much fun networking. Loved every second of it ❗ Congratulations on a job well done, Edda Konráðsdóttir, Melkorka Sigríður Magnúsdóttir and the rest of team! After launching IceBAN earlier this month, we were lucky to get a chance to share our vision with the crowd and encourage more business angels to join us on our mission. After several exciting conversations with the founders and "ecosystem-lovers" Svava Björk Ólafsdóttir and Daddi Guðbergsson, I realized my mind was already invested. Iceland does not necessarily lack business angels. However, the fact that only a few "well-known" people in the community are hunted by those seeking capital creates an uneven balance for the ecosystem. A professional environment for business angels to develop their skills, collaborate, and access investment opportunities in a structured manner is needed. This is a must to increase access to early-stage investments in Iceland. I'm honoured to have the opportunity to influence and develop the Icelandic angel investment landscape together with a team of experienced investors and business leaders like Marinella Haraldsdottir, Ragnheiður H. I am launching 🚀 a new AI assistant for MedTech regulatory affairs 🙌 With all the hype surrounding AI and large language models, I still haven’t seen a viable or reliable AI assistant dedicated to MedTech. The biggest hurdles for the big corps like OpenAI, Microsoft, Google, etc. are 👉 appropriate training with the right data 👉 appropriate prompting and configuration of models 👉 lack of knowledge of the MedTech industry regulations Furthermore, if we are to use LLMs to tackle product-specific challenges, we must train the models on our own private data, which few companies dare to do without the appropriate compliance in place 😱 There is a need for a private and reliable MedTech-specific service that is optimized for each manufacturer and product portfolio. If done correctly, we can aid decision-making in day-to-day operations and drastically speed up regulatory approvals and product development 🙌 The future of MedTech starts on April 5th 2024. The landscape is beautiful, so rent a bike or scooter, or walk around the city to immerse yourself in its culture and life. Kongens Nytorv tends to be considered "the centre"; from there, you can walk in any direction to experience different parts of Copenhagen. There are several very good (both pricy and not so pricy) restaurants around there as well. Walk the "Strøget" from Kongens Nytorv or Raadhuspladsen to do some shopping and see the busiest street in the city If you use Google Maps (who doesn't these days?), save and use my list. Bitcoin just surpassed 60.000 USD and is quickly targeting its all-time high from November 2021. 🔥 The increase in Bitcoin's price from 15k in November 2022 until now is around 290% 🤯 Let that sink in.... 290% in just over 14 months... Last year's price action has largely been fueled by new interest from Wall Street and "innovative" investors trading via US-based Bitcoin ETFs - which were only recently approved by the US SEC in January of this year. But most importantly, existing Bitcoin investors are holding onto their bitcoins 💎 Fewer Bitcoins are circulating on exchanges, and people are starting to recognise its purpose to store value.
