Lots of Covid-19 data, in a matter of days! Since Feb 12th, I am advocating the mechanism by which AT1R antagonists might be protective in #Covid19, and why ACE inhibitors are probably not. What would be a better proof (or rejection) than real life hospital data? Thanks to CTcue Roel Lakmaker, #AMC vascular internist Sara-Joan Pinto (our project member), her research partner Femke Waanders from #Isala hospital, and the relentless work behind the scenes from Otto Offringa and Roy Montijn #TNO, anonymized data from potentially 27 Dutch hospitals might give us profound insights. 👍🏻 A big applause to the Dutch government too, explaining the importance, the legal framework and asking the involved hospitals to join. The first hospitals already agreed, we need to move fast!

I removed my former post on this. I was enthusiastic about their letter, but I didn’t want to confront the ministry with questions about differences in data-collection with CTcue and how it fits the legal framework, from people who are not involved, and not addressed by the letter itself. They are busy too.

Hi Annette Offringa MD, we are studying that exact question in 30+ databases from around the world as well in the OHDSI (Observational Health Data Sciences & Informatics) open source community and studyathon. Some hospitals from New York and South Korea but also GP and claims databases. See https://www.pscp.tv/keesvanbochove/1LyxBNwZBlExN for a quick walkthrough, and https://www.ohdsi.org/covid-19-updates/ for the full coverage. Roel Lakmaker if you could map the data to OMOP then we could run the same open source analysis on the Dutch data as well!
